Take time to recharge
Balance active and quiet times each day. Adding natural details and organically-inspired color schemes to quiet areas in the classroom can help promote a soft and calming atmosphere when a sensory break is needed.

Make a special place in the classroom for children, including the shy child, to retreat to if they need some quiet, undisturbed time to calm down. Add soft pillows and huggable stuffed animals to a private, cozy alcove created by a low divider.
