When everyone is busy, stuffed animals make great listeners!

Duplicates

Providing duplicates of favorite items can help eliminate a tug-of-war or hoarding. Make sure duplicates are the same color, shape, and size!

Encourage students to be listening partners. Provide comfortable, quiet spots in the classroom for pairs of children to chat with each other. After they listen to what their partners have to say, encourage them to select a special word or phrase about the conversation ("fluffy bunny") to share or maybe draw a picture about.
