The following trainings are open to people around the country interested in learning more about building resilience in preschoolers or infants and toddlers.
The Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) is a strength-based assessment for school-age children (Kindergarten-8th grade). This free webinar will provide participants with an overview of the administration, interpretation and multiple uses of the DESSA and a companion screening tool, the DESSA-mini. Completed by parents, teachers, or after-school program staff, the DESSA assesses eight key competencies through 72 strength-based items. Participants in this webinar will benefit by gaining familiarity with a new measure that can be used in universal mental health screening, social-emotional learning promotion and evaluation, and intervention planning. Understand how the DESSA can be used in schools, after-school programs and a variety of other settings as well!
This webinar will provide professionals with a comprehensive training on the use of the DESSA and DESSA-mini. This webinar will train participants in all aspects of using the DESSA and DESSA-mini, including administration, scoring and advanced interpretation, social-emotional learning promotion and evaluation, and intervention planning. The use of the DESSA and DESSA-mini in promoting collaboration with parents will be highlighted.
