Elf on the Shelf, a timeless holiday tradition, can be incorporated into a classroom setting to encourage both learning and fun! Each elf has the ability to report on the day’s events. Every morning, the elf returns to perch in a different part of the house or classroom and continue his watch. Elf on the Shelf can be incorporated into reading and writing activities in the classroom, encouraging students to interact with the elf and other holiday-themed books. The elf can even be used to cause mayhem and mischief in the classroom, reminding students of the importance of good behavior in order to stay on the nice list!

To celebrate this holiday season, Kaplan Early Learning Company is unveiling 12 Days of Elf on the Shelf. Each day, we will reveal a new activity or idea to include Elf on the Shelf in your classroom. Your elf can be used in more elaborate setups, such as photocopied selfies of the elf around the classroom, or more simple activities, such as elf-written messages on the board. No matter the activity, students are sure to love their new classroom buddy! Elf on the Shelf goes far and beyond a decorative toy and can become an integral part of your classroom in a variety of interactive games and lessons that will leave your students joyous and ready to learn!
