Opening The World Of Learning (OWL)

Opening the World of Learning (OWL) is a comprehensive early literacy program designed for use with preschoolers. The OWL includes six units, each which provide four weeks of activities. The research-based activities foster learning in all content areas and also build personal and social skills. Opening the World of Learning provides teachers with activities and experiences that children enjoy and that ensure the learning of academic and social skills that lead to school success.

The materials listed in this correlation will assist teachers in implementing the OWL curriculum and further enhance the classroom experience for all children. All materials are of high quality and were designed to support early childhood research, as well as state and national early childhood guidelines.

Open Court Reading Pre-K

Open Court Reading Pre-K is a research-based curriculum designed for use with preschoolers. The Open Court Reading Pre-K includes eight units that each provides 20 lessons. Open Court Reading Pre-K was designed to teach children to decode and comprehend in an efficient manner so that they can read a variety of quality literature.

ScholasticBuilding Language for Literacy (BLL) Supplemental Language Program

The Building Language for Literacy, a research-based program, is published by Scholastic, and authored by Dr. Susan Neuman and Dr. Catherine Snow. The program has been proven effective in increasing children's language development.

The materials listed in this correlation will assist teachers in implementing the Building Language for Literacy Program and further enhance the classroom experience for all children. All materials are of high quality and were designed to support early childhood research, as well as state and national early childhood guidelines.

The Building Language for Literacy includes 6 units in each of two phases for a total of 12 units. Each unit includes activities for Song & Poem Time, Story Time, Choice Time, and Transition Time. Many materials are used in multiple areas.

DLM Early Childhood Express Curriculum

The DLM Early Childhood Express, published by The Wright Group of McGraw Hill, includes four teacher edition manuals that each include nine thematic units filled with lesson plans that are based on the latest research, literature, manipulatives, and instructional materials for use throughout the year. The lessons are designed to provide sequenced learning experiences and designed to be easy-to-use for all teachers. The curriculum also includes built-in accountability by providing an assessment in each manual covering the areas of Language and Early Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Health and Safety, Personal Development, Physical Development, and Technology. The DLM Early Childhood Express was also designed with state and national early childhood guidelines in mind.

The materials listed in this correlation will assist teachers in implementing the DLM Early Childhood Express Curriculum and further enhance the classroom experience for all children. All materials are of high quality and were designed to support early childhood research, as well as state and national early childhood guidelines.

The DLM Early Childhood Express includes four teacher editions (A -red, B-green, C-blue, and D-purple) that each include 9 themes. A list of gathering materials is included at the beginning of each unit. Other materials are listed throughout the unit within the activities provided for each day of the week.
