Thank you for being education rock stars! It takes a special person with a big heart to be a teacher, but so many of you overcome all of the challenges teaching brings to touch children’s lives and change the world one child at a time. Teacher Appreciation Week may only happen once each year, but we recognize and appreciate the hard work, dedication, time, and resources you put in throughout the year to help children learn and succeed.

Kaplan Classroom Heroes Is Back!

For the third consecutive year, we’re celebrating early childhood professionals, caregivers, preschool/elementary teachers, principals/directors, and other educators who make a difference in the classroom with our Kaplan Classroom Heroes campaign. Honor the hard work and dedication of your child’s teacher, one of your coworkers, or one of your staff members by nominating them as a Kaplan Classroom Hero. Be sure to submit your nomination by Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Three nominees will be chosen to win a $500 Kaplan Gift Card, and they will also have the opportunity to be featured in a national marketing campaign.

#ThankATeacher Campaign

The National Education Association (NEA) and National PTA are asking everyone to thank a teacher by posting a picture of yourself with your favorite teacher, a picture of your child with his or her teacher, or a picture of yourself holding a sign with a teacher’s name and why you’re thanking him or her. Be sure to use the hashtag #ThankATeacher when sharing, and you’ll also want to tag us at @KaplanCo if you want us to see your specific response.

Reading through some of the posts with the #ThankATeacher hashtag is also a great way to get inspired as a teacher. You may feel like you’re not making an impact at times, but it’s important to remember that even the littlest things can have a positive effect on children’s lives.
